I began as a kitmaker and still find that that is an important "medium" for me. However, because there are a lot of people who prefer "just patterns" so that they may supply their own materials, I do make some of my designs as "patterns only". However, most of my patterns still have some necessary items included, and some are called "mini kits" because they have even more and stop just short of giving all the fabrics.

Pattern #101 - Antique Doll Pattern - for simple 11"dolls designed in a small scale so as to make with vintage fabrics. A great basic pattern with some favorite aging techniques using my own wax medium, dye, sandpaper and spray starch (supplies for aging included with this pattern).

Pattern #102 - The Millennium Angel - 15" angel with large wings, crossed arms with star. Mohair for hair, wax medium for aging included.

Pattern #103 - Linsey Woolsey Santa - 13" tall Santa. This pattern, though I originally made his robes in vintage linsey-woolsey, is a good basic pattern for a flat-bottomed Santa. His old-fashioned robe and hood with cape lend themselves to many fabrics and the pattern includes lots of accessory ideas to round him out, including how to make an "address book" to hang from his waist tie and a striped stocking to sew or knit yourself. Includes wood base to help make him self-standing.

Pattern #104 - Peace Angel - 16" angel with banner embroidered "PEACE". Kinky mohair for hair, felting needle and wax medium included.

Pattern #105 -8" Raggedies - This is a simple pattern to make two small and antiqued raggedies - boy and girl in one pattern. Pattern includes striped fabric for legs, body fabric, nose and shoe paint, hair and antiquing supplies. I call this one a mini-kit as it has all but the clothing fabric and stuffing.

Pattern #106 - 12" Three Dimensional Cloth Doll - This doll style is a signature pattern for me and it was originally created just for classes due to its very manageable size. She has a painted and antiqued surface with a simple needle-sculpted nose. She has underclothes, plus dress, nightgown and shoes and stockings. This mini-kit contains paints, stencil for her face, hair, buttons and body fabric.

Pattern #107 -Cloth Covered Journals and Binders - Basic instructions for covering journals, 3-ring binders (to store all your patterns, ideas and magazine clippings for dollmaking) or just about any book and how to embellish them to enhance your studio space or give as gifts.

Pattern #107-B -Cloth Covered Boxes Learn how to cover boxes of all shapes with your favorite fabrics. Stacking boxes, a sewing box, rectangular, magazine holder boxes. How to line them and then label them. Suggestions for where to find good boxes are included.

Pattern #108 -Quilted Santa - This painted cloth-faced Santa shows off his quilted and pieced robe on a uniquely constructed body that allows him to stand by himself, through a special technique of weighting the feet. His wonderful presence is created by the layers of clothing and the many fabrics that go into his robe. While none of the steps is hard, he will represent extra time in all the detail, of course, most notably, the coat. However, the coat’s main effort is in choosing and cutting of all the pieces (which are all squares), and once this task is done, the rest is satisfying and moves right along. The robe may also be made of vintage wools, velvets or tapestry types or even a fragment of an old quilt - just use the patterns without doing the quilting. A few options are included for accessories as well. This pattern can provide many many looks from vintage country to Victorian by just altering the fabric choices.

PATTERN #109 and #110 - PRIMITIVE ANIMALS- A series of nine primitive animals who all average about 8" tall. Their charm is their simplicity and the antiquing that makes them look genuinely old and much handled and loved. Two Patterns are available that make all nine. (There are also full kits for them individually). Pattern #1(has 5 animals) and Pattern #2 (has 4 animals).

THE 9" HANNAH DOLL PATTERN I do love small scale dolls best, and so I find myself going back to the scale I worked in for over 20 years almost exclusively. The 9" Hannah doll was the very first doll I named and appropriately, after my daughter. This doll to me says it all in a cloth doll. I have perfected a Columbian-style pattern as my favorite for ease of successful stuffing and simplified the style of construction while keeping the important details to keep the doll dear. She has a perfect small foot just right to either paint on shoes or not and stitched fingers on her tiny hands. Because of the painted-on hair, it was easy to add a boy and make this a set.The set (both dolls and small cat) comes as a pattern only including how to make the simple lace and with iron-on face transfers or as a limited edition kit with all materials included for the two dolls and small cat. Finished Dolls can be had as a set or singly (with cat).

THE FEEDSACK SERIES DOLLS - Done with Colored Pencils and Easy New Techniques. This pattern will make two dolls, a 14" Doll with Red Shoes and 14" Black Sister. The charm of these dolls made like my Feedsack Doll (above) is the ease of doing their faces with colored pencils. Every student who has made these in my classes easily turned out a great doll. Even the stuffing is easier due to the style of head. Pattern comes with several iron-on faces that you fill in with colored pencils. (A complete set of colored pencils is available on the Supplies page or included in the kitted supplies).

KATE GREENAWAY BOY AND GIRL
- This will make a pair of 10" painted cloth child dolls in a newly worked pattern of a style I am coming to think of as one of the best for a fairly uncomplicated cloth doll with a fully three-dimensional look. Faces are to be outlined with iron-on transfers and hair is a series of templates and brush technique. Painting is a combination of acrylics and fast drying oils. The charm of this pair of dolls comes from their small size, the added interest of a boy and girl pair and of course the wonderful clothing taken entirely from Kate Greenaway illustrations of the late 1800's. This is a doll you will want to make over and over.

EMMA - Began as a 14" oil painted limited edtion doll, dressed in vintage fabrics from my collection and sitting in her painted and antiqued pouting chair complete with her cloth-bound diary with real entries from her life in the mid 1800's. She is also available alone (not limited edition) in either vintage or reproduction fabrics. Patterns for the Emma doll and outfit plus oil painting instructions.

CHARLOTTE - Another 14" Oil Painted Cloth Doll. Next to my Disney doll, I would have to say that when out in public with all my other dolls, Charlotte steals the most hearts. She begins with a traditional pattern style called "the baseball head" (due to the construction being similar to how a baseball cover is sewn). This style creates one of the best true-to-human head shapes there is using cloth and just a couple of pattern pieces. Charlotte comes with her bonnet, simple farmgirl dress, undies trimmed with handmade lace , stockings, and leather shoes. She is completely stuffed with real wool and has a nice weight to hold in your hand.

SPRINGFIELD WOODEN PATTERNS- These wooden dolls are made from kits, but they have outfits in pattern form.

HITTY - Patterns for two Hitty wardrobe sets  are available.
