A continuation of a procrastination project to hoe out the many boxes of parts of discontinued kits and their finished versions mostly for cloth dolls. It is daunting to pick through deciding what can be sold or given away or sadly taken to the dump. These are some of much more to come as I get more time. When partially worked dolls are included, I figure there are those out there who know my work and can make use of.

HOMESPUN MAGAZINE DOLL -
LOTTIE
In 2009, I did a pattern for a new cloth doll for an Australian magazine
(also sold in the US) called Homespun. The doll is named Lottie and
is 10", all cloth with embroidered face and a mohair wig. This
doll has one of my best patterns yet for a cloth doll body and reverts
from a painted detail face to stitchery. Full kits have not been available for years, but we had a recent find of the perfect print fabrics already in our supplies, so we have full kits now available while they last. THE
14" FEEDSACK DOLL - New Mini Kit
Previously this kit was going to be discontinued, but
because it is such a good kit and a great doll, I have made it a mini kit. This is one of the best
dolls I have ever designed. She makes up well, with ease, including
stuffing, which is usually one of the hardest parts. She is very
old-fashioned in her style and accessories. Made from a feedsack*,
an historical detail common to homemade cloth dolls, she has a
charming face which is accomplished easily with an iron-on transfer
and colored pencils applied to her painted cloth finish. Mini kit has all supplies including body and striped legs fabrics, colored pencils and stencil for her face, paints and antiquing, leather for shoes and vintage style batise and cotton lace for underwear
and bonnet. Customer provides dress, trim fabric, and stuffings.
*NOTE: We are no longer able to
provide the wonderful vintage feedsacking for this doll (the modern
replacement is awful) and so the fabric provided is a suitable
weave that acts the part with ease.

Historical Paper Doll Series
The Fashion Doll ~ 6" Display Size Kit
This larger 6" version of the doll size paper doll set started out as simply a display model to sell the tiny size while at shows - in the photo the larger size is in front with the tiny size in the background. But everyone wanted it too. It does not come with all of the clothing and packaging of the small set because it is just for display in your dollmaking area or sitting on a shelf of a bookcase. The dolls in this series of paper dolls are based on the original artwork of Gail Wilson and the historical dolls which have inspired her. OFFERING MORE OF THE SPECIAL KITS FOR 9" MOLDED DOLL LIKE LOUISA
In the last sale, I offered some of these special kits and they sold out quickly, so since there were additional parts still left, I decided to do the same offering. I called these the Louisa Kits because that is the doll that was the first of many from a new mold. These painted dolls with bodies have languished in their box for, well, a long time. I had intentions of beginning another small series but the right inspiration + time never came. So, have decided to make use of all the work involved in the items included in a very special "kit". These unique kits will include a painted and assembled body with a wig cap to style the mohair wig (pre-sewn) with supplied finished hand crocheted snoods. Also included are leftover finished leather buttoned shoes in blue** and stockings, plus patterns and instructions to make an outfit of undies, a simple dress, pinafore and bonnet like the samples shown in the photo. ALL THE MAKINGS TO ASSEMBLE THIS PICKET FENCE AND BASE
What is offered is a complete set of wood parts (unpainted) to make this special display base wtih its picket fence. This was never a kit but basic steps are provided. You supply paints. I have used these for both 18" - 24" Feather Trees and my Santas as a way to display any extra accessories. Outer dimensions of the base are 11.25 X 11.25" and the inside of the fence space is 9.25 x 9.25". Pickets are stained dowels. Posts include 2 for the optional "gate". You paint the rails, posts and the wood base.

GRANDMOTHER'S DOLL (THE ATTIC DOLL) OFFERED FINISHED OR AS A KIT
The inspiration for this doll (originally made for a convention workshop) was my interpretation of the common china doll many of our grandmothers actually played with. She turned out to be a petite 5" doll made in papier mache from my own molds with a cloth body. A 10" IZANNAH WALKER INSPIRED DOLL KIT WITH WARDROBE
A fine addition to my doll kits and a wonderful doll to collect
and sew for. This doll is a scaled down version who in her original
size of 18" was sculpted by me carefully by measurements
and shape templates from a real 21" Izannah, so she is pretty
true (well, I do admit to making her more subtle ears than Izannah
did). Her head is molded papier mache with a cloth body stuffed
with wool. Included are special painting instructions for either
wispy side curls or her signature sausage curls. Although the
painting is somewhat tricky, I have simplified the methods with
the help of recommended special tools so that really is not that
much more than any other painted doll. Of course, I also offer
pre-painting of the head as I do with all my other molded dolls.
Her patterns for her wardrobe include her pantalets and camisole,
petticoat, 2 dress styles, 2 aprons, her hooded cape, a hard
constructed and a cloth bonnet plus her own folk cat (an accessory
she is often depicted with) and a pocket. Included in the kit
are also very special cotton knit and optional instructions for
doing the knit-over technique if you choose.

18" IZANNAH WALKER INSPIRED DOLL KIT
This is a molded head Izannah Walker inspired doll made from months
of study of a real (and quite wonderful) 21" antique Izannah Walker
from the collection of my old friend and well-known dollmaker,
R John Wright. From my studies, I sculpted the head you see here plus used it in scaled down versions for my many smaller Izannahs. The molded papier mache head is covered in special cotton knit, like the originals, with a cloth body intended to be stuffed
with wool. Included are special painting instructions for either
wispy side curls or her signature sausage curls. Although the
painting is somewhat tricky, I have simplified the methods with
the help of recommended special tools so that really is not that
much more than any other painted doll. Of course, I also offer
pre-painting of the head as I do with all my other molded dolls.
Patterns include her basic wardrobe:
petticoat, pantalets, dress, apron and bonnet, plus an alternate boys outfit. The making of this kit was due in part to fill a need for dollmakers
to make a nice version of a pretty true Izannah look without
having to sculpt a doll by themselves. Cloth body fabric, special knit for head and paints provided plus undies fabric, leather for shoes, knit for stockings and all notions. You provide wool stuffing (about 8 oz) and outer garments fabrics.
