THE HISTORY OF MY CLUBS:
If
I have any good business sense, I got it from my grandmother
who managed to run a small jewelry store with military precision
for over 50 years (and prosper) in a mill town in Vermont,
which saw all other businesses, large and small, come and
go with the various times. Her secret was clubs. When I designed
the Early American Doll Series, I had originally figured
it as a complete set of things including a doll and all her
clothes, furniture and accessories. Then I feared that people
couldn't afford it, but it came to me that one of my grandmother's
clubs would work. Thus began the first of many clubs which are presented in an affordable format
and is a fun way to collect with a surprise to look forward
to each month and in the end you will own a wonderful collection
for yourself or for the future.
The list of past clubs (most offered both in finished form or as kits): The Early American Doll Club (in 3 major parts and running for many years), The Historical Folk Doll Series, The Tiny Doll Series (20 years), 3 Clubs for all of the Hitty Series (20+ years) and many many Custom Clubs for both finished items or kits made up of customer's choices.

Sadly, after about 40 years of many many clubs, offered both Finished or Kit or Custom, I am no longer offering joining a club as an option. I am honoring those customers already in a club until their clubs are finished, but not taking on any new club participation. Thank you to the scores of wonderful customers whose clubs often made the difference of staying in business in harder times. It has been a ride I will always treasure. And, thanks to my Grammy Wilson for the inspiration. Gail Wilson August, 2025 |
