TINY DOLL NO. FIFTEEN (2016) ~ THE BONNET DOLL

This next ornament doll is an early Peg Wooden dressed in Regency style. She is based on a photo of an antique doll wearing a wonderful straw bonnet. It was challenging to make a straw bonnet so small, but here she is. Bodies are hand sculpted and jointed wood. The tiny stand is recommended.

TINY DOLL NO. SIXTEEN (2017) ~ MAGGIE BESSIE

This next ornament doll will be my version of the rare Maggie Bessie Dolls. The Maggie Bessie dolls were made by the Pfohl Sisters (Maggie & Bessie), two Moravian ladies in Old Salem, North Carolina, beginning in 1893. I chose this doll based on the popularity of my Tiny Columbian Doll (#12 in this series) because the Maggie Bessies are similar in style and begun in the same year. Stands are recommended - see below at bottom of page.

#16 2017 Tiny Doll, Maggie Bessie, is being discontinued and until all are sold, you can find her on the Garage Sale page at a sale price.

Stands Recommended - If a stand is ordered at the same time as a doll, the stand will be 25% off. One stand per doll. $9.50 Add to Cart

TINY DOLL NO. SEVENTEEN (2018) ~ A TINY FASHION DOLL

This next ornament doll in the series will be a Fashion Doll. This has been requested by many for a long time, but up until recently I have not wanted to do such a fancy doll in this tiny scale in production. See photo (click at right) to see this extraordinary doll. She has ringlets all around her papier mache head with a bonnet decorated in silk rosettes that coordinates with her bustled skirt all trimmed in lace. Stands are recommended - see below.

A country maiden wearing everyday clothes. She is a jointed hand-carved wooden doll with a molded papier mache head. Stands are recommended - see below.

TINY DOLL NO. NINETEEN (2020) ~ A TINY (3.5") ANNABELLE INSPIRED BY TASHA TUDOR'S BELOVED "A is for Annabelle"

My Tiny version of Annabelle will be recognized from the cover of the alphabet book "A is for Annabelle" by Tasha Tudor. She has painted blonde hair fashioned with a snood which can be seen in back below her straw bonnet trimmed with pink silk ribbon and a lace ruffle. Her dress is, of course, micro pink gingham in the late 1800's style with full petticoat, pantalets and pink slippers.

THE TINY DOLL NO. TWENTY (2021-22) ~ THE 1830'S DOLL

The tiny doll for this year, Number 20, again in the 3.5" size, is styled after the costumes of the times which featured leg-of-mutton sleeves and very wide and full brimmed bonnets. Originally, I planned on a subdued palette, but always hampered by available fabrics with a drape good enough for such tiny dolls, I turned down one uninspiring color set after another. Then I happened to notice that the purples, eggplants and greens of the ornamental kales planted in the urns outside my workroom door were just what I was looking for and more importantly was able to obtain the right colors in the right fabrics. The just-right green is used with silk ribbon around her bonnet and her waistband (can't be seen in this photo). Tiny silk ribbon rosettes on her gown and bonnet add the color pop. $250

NOTE: This is the last tiny doll of the series I began in 2004 and was supposed to be a series of 12. This is Number 20, so a good place to stop. I will continue with my Tiny Nursery Rhyme and Fairy Tale Series. And then, I did do a number 21 after all. See the next doll.

INSPIRED BY THE ILLUSTRATIONS OF KATE GREENAWAY

A sample illustration by Kate Greenaway

Due to so many requests, I will do yet another doll for 2023. Since I have loved the works of Kate Greenaway, the inspiration for this next doll comes from her many charming illustrations of children. Oh, the pinafores and bonnets. So the photos above are the final results. Her price is $250.

STANDS FOR TINY DOLLS
- Tiny and tasteful stands for all my tiny dolls (3 - 4"). There are no commercial stands that are small enough for these dolls, so finally I got down to business and designed one. It is quite adjustable (within reason) and works with all the dolls on this page. The height is adjustable as well as the waist bracket. Its base is stained natural wood with a brass upright and color coated wire for the waist bracket. $12.75 Add to Cart
